In the 40 days approaching the Nativity of Christ, the Good Shepherd prepares itself to come face to face with God in the flesh. We light one of the coloured candles each week as we approach the birth of Christ. The candles in the sandbox represent the worshiper's prayers lighting the world and ascending to God.
