Timeless Wisdom: Orthodox Spirituality Today

A Lenten Retreat—16th to 18th March 2018, Belgrave Heights

Come join the English-speaking Orthodox parishes of Melbourne for a weekend of spiritual feasting. People will be flocking to experience the “Timeless Wisdom” of ancient Orthodox Spirituality in a thoroughly modern setting.

But for those who cannot make it, remember that all weekend services will be served at The Good Shepherd Orthodox Church.

Registrations are now open for the upcoming Lenten retreat: a time to get away, pray and learn about the faith with other Orthodox Christians from English speaking parishes. All welcome!

The Liturgy will still be served at The Good Shepherd on Sunday 18th March, along with all scheduled weekend services.

He explores the Church's primary image as a hospital for souls, the difference between isolation and community, and the call to bear one another's burdens as we approach the feast of Pentecost.

Nicholas Frazer reflects on the quiet courage of Joseph of Arimathea, Nicodemus, and the Myrrhbearing Women — those who remained faithful to Christ when fear had scattered the disciples. Drawing on the Gospel of Mark, he explores three movements of love: the courage to stand with Christ when it is costly, the faithfulness to seek him even in darkness, and the revelation of the empty tomb, where Christ has already overcome what we fear most.
